Let me say that I really appreciate the safe feeling and sense of community (brotherhood?) there is here.
My initial intent was to lurk and try to learn what I needed without oversharing about myself and my needs, goals, etc. But after just one day I feel confident enough to be honest and ask for the help I need.
I have searched for threads on Peyronie's and have ready many of them. A lot of the recent ones address "suspected" cases or "I'm 20 but my dick is bent so it must be" cases. My case is confirmed.
History? Skip if TMI. I'm 50. About a year and a half ago my wife and I were making love, her on top, getting pretty aggressive. She leaned far backwards and was riding me like that when I felt a pop. Yep, in my shaft. I knew almost right away it would be P. Within few weeks the plaque showed up. Went to urologist, he felt it, confirmed it. Almost a 60 degree bend up. He recommended the Xiaflex injections, but 1. my insurance doesn't cover and 2. OUCH. The thought of shots going into my mainvein does not excite me (see what I did there?) I began researching alternatives, but to be honest I haven't stuck with anything. I've done ultrasound to the penis, used iodine, creams, done some fibrotic massage (myself), and as in my bio signed up with OkayDick.com for a few months of PE. Did the exercises pretty faithfully, saw some initial results. But over time didn't keep making the needed time a priority. (Started out doing them in the gym shower after working out (private stall showers)), but all of a sudden my gym time was 90 minutes, including a 30 minute shower. Too much time I guess.
So the curvature isn't any better. More TMI - penetrative sex is now painful for my wife. I can still have an erection (hard to know if it's weaker since I'm now 50 and don't know what a normal erection would have been like for me at 50), and I've definitely lost length and girth to both flaccid and erect states. I'm not real pleased with that.
The Devices Forum lists several devices to help with Peyronie's. I've never considered one before, but am now committed to use whatever the group's consensus here is.
Here's what I'm looking for:
- I need to be able to wear it DISCREETLY under my clothes during the day. I'm a doctor, so I am in front of patients all day. I don't want something people will be able to detect while I'm with them (stopped wearing a lab coat years ago - too formal and stuffy for me).
- I have my own office, so I can take it off, reapply, adjust, etc., between patients as I need to. I know I can't go 8 hours in a row off the bat.
- I'd love someone's advice / experience who has used the device for a similar issue. Sure, a few extra inches would be great, but I really want to reduce that (*&$%! curve.
- I probably won't sleep in it. I sleep terribly anyway, and I think any change to my sleep conditions (especially a mousetrap on my junk) would be way too distracting and would keep me up. This man needs his beauty rest.
Thanks in advance for tips, experiences, jokes, etc. I'm also working to drop 30 Lbs. Part of the decrease in length may be due to an increased fat pad... middle age ain't for wussies!
Love to all,
Rick Azurdia
