Progress Log #6 - A New Beginning

So, I fell off of PE at the beginning of 2017. I've returned to give it another shot, and hopefully commit to it this time. Third time's the charm.

I started two days ago, performed two sessions, and completed one of them; details below. Before I get to that, however, I want to reflect on some changes I've noticed in myself since I became a member of this community. I first came across this community while I was suffering from a depression which was induced, in part, by insecurities with my body. Since then, I've reflected much, and experienced much (most notably, I've had multiple sexual encounters that, in and of themselves, improved my confidence, by virtue of my no longer being a virgin). Furthermore, I began the 5x5 Stronglifts workout routine and began paying more attention to my diet (my issue not being the quality of food, but rather the quantity) around September of last year. I'm now on my way to gaining muscle, and I've begun to enjoy going to the gym. Psychologically, my physical insecurities have diminished to the point where calling it an insecurity is an overstatement. In other words, the "insecure" thoughts might cross my mind once in a while, but they no longer have the crippling affect they once had. I attribute this change in perception to four things: having had sexual experiences, adopting a life philosophy derived from the work of a notable, contemporary Canadian psychologist, occupying my free time with pursuing different activities/hobbies, and meditation. In short, I've expanded my life in such a way that my former insecurity is now only a tiny aspect of my entire life (whereas before it consumed most of it).

So that's where I'm at now. As I've already mentioned, I restarted the JP90X program two days ago (1/22/18).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My first session took me roughly an hour, and I did the following:

Warm-up: Having hot water pouring down on my member.

{

- Helicopter shakes for a quick count of 30.
- *Stretching to a count of 45 (I counted the seconds myself).
- 10 circular stretches clockwise.
- 10 circular stretches counter-clockwise.

} repeated four times

*The direction of the stretching was as follows; left, first round; right, second round; forward, third round; up, fourth round.

50 Jelqs (two-handed).
30 V-jelqs.
50 Jelqs (two-handed).
30 V-jelqs.
(I used water-based lubricant for these)

The first session was great! I performed it in the evening before going to bed. It was a very relaxing experience; meditative. I would also like to note that I used quite a bit of force while performing the stretches; this is important because I believe this had an impact on my inability to complete the second session yesterday (1/23/18). Yesterday, I began the session, with the intention of completing it the same way I did my first session. However, midway through the stretching portion, I began to feel some discomfort on the left side of the base of the shaft. I was familiar with the sensation because I had experienced it for the first time in December of 2016. In short, based on my experience and some research on the Internet, I am confident that I induced Sclerosing Lymphangitis. I came across the term in this thread, here on the forums. After going through the Wikipedia article, the description pretty much matched what I was experiencing. I've quoted the article where it matches my experience, below:

"...
a cordlike structure ... running the length of the shaft ..."
"...
consisting of a minimally tender, indurated cord ..."
"...
resolves spontaneously."
"
Spontaneous recovery can occur anywhere within a couple weeks to several months." (For me, the first time, it took a couple of weeks).

The first time this occurred, in 2016, I was very worried. When it happened yesterday, I was only mildly worried, and very pissed off. Two days in and I already have to take a break *sigh*. As I mentioned previously, I believe that my vigorous stretching during the first session stressed my member, and the additional stretching yesterday caused this to happen. The only difference between the two times this has happened is that, the first time, the "indurated cord" sensation persisted throughout most of the two weeks of recovery. This time, the sensation goes away after I leave my member alone for a while. This morning, having found that the "indurated cord" sensation was gone, I decided to give it another shot. I did so a little while ago, making sure to use less force while stretching, but after a while the sensation returned. Now, as I'm writing this, the sensation is gone again. My conclusion is that, even though I don't have a persistent "indurated cord" sensation, it'll take a few days (maybe a week, or more) before I can give the routine another earnest attempt; very frustrating.

So, that's it for now. If you have any questions, I will happily answer. If you have any suggestions, I will gratefully accept them. I'll do my best to update this journal periodically.

I almost forgot, my initial measurements are:

3"/3.5" FL
6" NBPEL (at 100%
ish EQ)
7" BPEL
(at 100%ish EQ)
5.7" MSEG (at 100%ish EQ)
5.5" BSEG
(at 100%ish EQ)
