Fantasy vs Reality

Thank You, Lord, for waking me up and an excellent worship day!



I thought about this today...Fantasy vs. reality.

This thought came to me when getting ready to make love to my wife...we tried a new position yet she got hurt slightly and did not want to continue at the angle.

For me, I started to think to myself...Fantasy vs reality.

My fantasy or expectation how things "should" however reality sets in and smacks me from daydreaming.

For example:

1) Fantasy: I would LOVE to have oral sex with my wife. I have only did this once to her.
1a) Reality: She did not like it and when I brought up doing it (or her reprociating me) she was not for it.

1) Fantasy: I would LOVE to do more positions than the two we do.
1a) Reality: She gets tired with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and homeschooling our daughter. Once the weekend comes and if she hasn't slept in, her energy is shot. Plus, at times just want to sleep.

1) Fantasy: I would LOVE for her to wear orange nail polish because I find this oddly sexy.
1a) Reality: She baulked at the idea and I never brought it up again. Every woman is different.

1) Fantasy: I would LOVE to make love to her bare back.
1a) Reality: She despises having to sit on the toilet for minutes at a time after we finished thus she prefers condoms.

1) Fantasy: I would LOVE to have morning love making with her.
1a) Reality: My wife is a sleeper. Wake her up at your own risk! :lol:

1) Fantasy: I would LOVE me to touch her yoni or even massage it.
1a) Reality: She is very skiddish about me touching her there.

One thing I have learn close to 15 years of marriage is that choose your battles wisely. I now see these as preference and I am learning to give these over to God. This is not easy. At times, I have my inner kid tantrums and "woe is me" yet I know that I can't change her...I can only become the best me I can be and keep praying for her plus our marriage to have a sexual awakening.
