All this negativity is useless, can I get a Hallelujah?!?

Now, this may be a little out of context, but the message holds true; we are a consumer driven society and my thoughts are: why must we all be so money hungry and focus on social status based on meaningless products that are devoid of human definition of character?

I took a test today, and thought to myself, "I'm doing this so that I can get a job, but why am I jumping through all these hoops? Is it really worth it?" We live in a society where status is based on how much your dollar amount is for. If you have bad breath, but make $10 million a year, I'm sure that your 23 year-old trophy wife will overlook that small detail. Since I consider myself a decently good looking guy, I imagine that my worth on the market may drop a little without a nice six-figure income. Luckily for me, I have an awesome woman who stands by my side:becky:

So, I paid $75 for this test; add that to the nearly $10k worth of schooling, the $400 is costs to get my license, another $500-$100 for various other certificates/licenses/trainings- and all of this is for what? A job worth $37,500/year with fringe benefits and no retirement package. I'd like to think that I'm not a sheep, but hey- I'd be a hypocrite if I said otherwise. If I can't change the world, I mind as well try to make it a better place for as many people as I can.
