I need to protest a little: Sex is a lot in the brain (but of course not exclusively), and not like you say that it almost only originates from the penis. Let me share with you some knowledge from a field I know about: Spinal cord injury. I've been talking to many spinal cord injured individuals (many paralysed because of that), and typically is that a big percent have problems achieving erection at all. In addition the spinal injury often causes the testestorone levels in males to drop. The lower in the back the spinal cord injury is, the more likely impotence occurs. And if you couple this with such a serious injury that they have no physical (sensation), it means no sex drive at all, right? Wrong. Here is the very interesting part that I learned from different people suffering the worst kind of spinal cord injury causing no sensation and no erection. They are still typically very interested in sex. They think sex, use medication to achieve erections (even when not having a sensation of the erection.) And many still enjoy having sex. Many masturbate without feeling particularly much - or feel nothing. And typically they are obsessed about women even in these conditions. Specialists in spinal injury and sex write that even with those who don't feel a thing around the penis - nor feel any orgasm - still get a pleasure in the area of the brain which has to do with sex. The specialists even write about the brain reprogramming; that individuals learn to feel sexual pleasure from being stimulated on areas of the body which are not affected by the injury (like upper chest, neck, ears etc.)
I wrote this in a simple way. It is so much more to it. The main point is that indeed the libido is really a lot in the brain and not in the penis itself, unlike what you say.
When reading how you describe your life, I do suspect that you are in a depression, which is understandable after your nerve injury. That will definitely be a libido killer (in the brain) for many people. Depression will explain a lot more why you find no pleasure in any other things in life, more so than just the nerve damage itself.
